Sabukaru
"We wanted to tell the true feeling of the streets of Tokyo," explain the creatives at Sabukaru who reinterpreted Baracuta's G4 Jacket for The Alternative project. "That's the classic Sabukaru approach: working with key players in youth culture and the creative scene. That's how we wanted to represent and compose the styling of the G4. A contemporary look at Tokyo style through a timeless jacket." The protagonists of the shooting signed by Sabukaru are Taro, the face of the campaign and international model, as well as the protagonist of the Japanese capital's nightlife; Udai, photographer who comes from the Youthquake collective; and Kei, the stylist, who is also the founder and creative director of the Car Service brand.
Telling and tracing the multiple threads of contemporary Japanese culture is the great goal of the Sabukaru collective - a cultural work that also passes through the reinterpretation of preppy wardrobe classics. The key to G4's appeal is its versatility. "It can look classic, iconic and contemporary at the same time," explain the creatives at Sabukaru.
