The haute couture for next autumn is all about history, tradition, heritage.
Clare Waight Keller reworks the archive of Monsieur Hubert de Givenchy and the creations designed for Audrey Hepburn; Maria Grazia Chiuri at Dior reflects on the concept of atelier as a place for research and experimentation; Julie de Libran celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of Sonia Rykiel, and was inspired by Marylou Luther's quote in the Los Angeles Times in 1967: "Couture is not enough. You need a Rykiel ".
Karl Lagerfeld recreates the avenues on Senna's riverside with the iconic newsagents of vintage book sellers as an homage to Paris; while Gaultier revisits the tuxedo and endorses the #freethenipple movement.
John Galliano at Maison Margiela Artisanal brings digital and glamor nomads to the catwalk with cell phones and tablets attached to metal ankle straps, or sewn onto their clothes.
