Chelsea's new shirt is a dip into the 90s The Blues' kit is inspired by the European successes of Gianluca Vialli, Roberto Di Matteo and Gianfranco Zola
Twenty-five years have passed since the 1997/98 season, and looking at it today through the eyes of a Chelsea fan that seems like the beginning of an era that brought the Blues among the world's top clubs. In fact, it was in that season that the Chelsea of Gianluca Vialli, Gianfranco Zola and Roberto Di Matteo won the Cup Winners' Cup in the final against Stuttgart, and that success inspired the new Home shirt presented by the London club and Nike right now. The blues' jersey is a celebration of the 1990s as the beginning of a glorious history, drawing on all the aesthetic imagery of that decade even in the campaign shots, in which posters of rap stars of the time, CDs and the slogan 'It's a 90's thing' can be seen.
