Fashion locations: Valentino Garavani's Chateau de Wideville A dreamy location for celebrity parties and relax full of design antiques and asian-inspired itemd

A few kilometers away from the capital of fashion and taste stands a majestic castle that seems to come out from a fairy tale. Château de Wideville is the French residence of Valentino Garavani, an Italian designer who needs no introduction. After splitting his powerful brand in half and selling it partly to Fondo Permira (owned by the Qatari royal family) and Gruppo Marzotto, Mr Valentino retired from the fashion stage in 2008. While his eponimous brand is implementing a new communication and aesthetics remaining faithful to its creator under the supervision of Pierpaolo Piccioli, Garavani spends more time than usual in his French castle, where the design is worthy of the unmistakable elegance of the designer and is characterized by the encounter between Italian design and chinoiserie, Chinese style interpreted by classical Europe of 1800. An incredibly sophisticated atmosphere reigns supreme in the property, once stage of big parties and events, which also hosted a family and friends wedding party of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in 2014 (yes, it really happened). Let’s discover together design details and curiosities about Château de Wideville, one of the favourite houses among its many possessions of Valentino Garavani.

Historical notes

The Meissen swans were present on the brunch table in honor of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, not yet married in May 2014. All the Kardashian Klan (dressed strictly Valentino) together with Kanye accompanied by Virgil Abloh, saw with eyes and touched with his hand the sumptuous mix given by the Italian hospitality and intercontinental taste of the landlord. With his faithful business partner Giancarlo Giammetti the couturier hosted in the sumptuous reception room a lunch in honor of the wedding of the year, during which between the many courses and the incredible kindness of the staff, The Kardashian family’s personal photographer captured all the best moments. Andrè Leon Talley then described menus and events for Vogue US. The fairytale parties are not limited to the stars of Calabasas: previously Valentino used to organize a charity ball every July, attracting top celebrities such as Carine Roitfeld, Stella Tennant, Gwyneth Paltrow and Eva Longoria in 2010.
