She's the undisputed queen of customs and DIY on Instagram, skills that granted her collaborations and projects with the most important fashion names. And now Ava Nirui is ready to launch a new collection created with Marc Jacobs.
Avanope is a 25-year-old creative born and raised in Sydney and now based in New York, who started out her career in fashion as assistant community manager at Vans, to then moving to Opening Ceremony and finally at Helmut Lang, as digital editor. Ava became well-known especially on Instagram, where she can now boast more then 230k followers: Ava took the 'gram to reveal a Barbie doll dressed in avant-garde designer pieces by Hood By Air. Her stand-out creation was the Champion hoodie turned into a Gucci piece, which attracted the attention of both public and critics.
The collaborative projects continued with Nike, Dover Street Market and 21 Mercer. Earlier this year, Avanope was chosen by the New York museum MOMA to design a hoodie that referenced the graphic codes of Maison Margiela within the context of the Items: Is Fashion Modern? exhibition.
Now Ava Nuiri has given a sneak peek of her new collaboration with Marc Jacobs on her Instagram profile, of course. Inspired by the logo of spread brand I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!, the bright yellow embroidered hoodie sees the word butter replaced by Marc Jacobs. On the back of the hoodie, you’ll find the words Unreal taste! printed in red.
