Sunderland returns to hummel with the new Home jersey After thirty years, the technical sponsor that made history for the Black Cats is back
A thirty-year break. This is how the time since the last time Sunderland AFC wore the hummel logo and the distinctive Chevrons that characterize the design of the Danish brand has been defined. Now, by renewing a historic alliance that began in 1988, hummel and Sunderland AFC have today presented the new Home kit for the 2024-25 season, which celebrates the iconic red and white stripes that are synonymous with the tradition of the Black Cats club. This year's design honors the deep shipbuilding roots of the city, with all-over stripes inspired by the historic emblem of the club and archival images of shipyards and ships adorning the inside of the back collar. The phrase "From the banks of the River Wear" is elegantly engraved inside the collar and embodies the spirit of the port city overlooking the North Sea. The coordinates of the Stadium of Light, subtly placed on the back of the collar, symbolically connect the jersey to the modern era of Sunderland, while also creating a link to its illustrious past.
