KEEN celebrates the 15th anniversary of the Jasper An outdoor mood for a street style feel
The successful sports-fashion combination this year has discovered a new world to explore, reflected in the increasingly popular trend of an aesthetic linked to the outdoor world, sports and consequently technical clothing. The work of KEEN, the footwear brand founded in 2003 in Portland with the aim of celebrating the union between man and nature, operates precisely in this dimension, reflected since the brand's inception in footwear that combines functionality and style. KEEN footwear has been known for technical quality and durability for a good twenty years, but it is only in the last few years that it has been making their way onto the street style scene. Fifteen years ago the Jasper model was developed, combining the look and performance of a climbing shoe with the versatility of an urban trainer. Jasper is an iconic model and features the classic look of an outdoor shoe, synonymous with functionality and comfort, and a tongue-tie lacing. However, its versatility makes it a trainer suitable for everyday life. The leather upper of the Jasper shoes is produced responsibly: KEEN tanneries, certified by the Leather Working Group, use less water, energy and chemicals during production. The brand has always been environmentally conscious in order to create the so-called 'KEEN Effect', which consists of reducing the impact of shoes on the planet and supporting charitable causes.
The 15th anniversary of the Jasper represents not only an entrepreneurial milestone for KEEN, but an additional opportunity to reinforce its commitment to environmental protection. For this reason, part of the proceeds of the collaboration will go to EOCA, the European Outdoor Conservation Association, for the protection of two endangered tropical frog species.
