Last Tuesday, in the beautiful setting of the Greek island of Mykonos, OMEGA unveiled its new commemorative collection of Seamaster watches in the Summer Blue hue, in commemoration of the first Seamaster model produced by the Swiss brand exactly 75 years ago. This unique collection offers a selection of eleven timepieces, in seven iconic models, that combine the advanced diving technology now synonymous with all OMEGA's products with a refined design ranging from models designed to elevate the everyday lifestyle to high-tech, high-performance models. Each of these seven models represents a phase in the glorious history of the Seamaster line, retracing its most iconic models and recreating them with cutting-edge technology in special editions that will delight underwater exploration experts and collectors alike. The dials of the models in this collection feature an OMEGA Summer Blue hue that evokes the image of an endless sea on a sunny day in a descending gradation of color that represents the different depths for which each timepiece is designed. The Summer Blue hue was chosen specifically to represent the watch's connection to marine exploration and OMEGA's strong commitment to protecting the oceans. Each dial is made with meticulous care, applying layers of varnish to create a unique depth effect.

The Seamaster logo, depicting Neptune's hippocampus with its trident, was the inspiration of designer Jean-Pierre Borle during a visit to Venice, where he admired the decorative sculptures that adorned the gondolas.
