DC Shoes presents a new sneaker collection inspired by Andy Warhol The cult brand of the '90s in dialogue with the world of pop art

The juggernaut skate brand of the 90s and early 2000s, DC Shoes is gaining serious momentum thanks to its cult followers and iconic silhouettes. DC has announced its partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation to create the DC X ANDY WARHOL collection that combines the respective heritage of DC sneakers and the work of the famous American artist. «Warhol’s life and work continue to be a beacon for individualists who defy convention making him a natural muse for an organization rooted in skate culture», said the Foundation's marketing director, Michael Dayton Hermann, also explaining that proceeds from sales of the collection will be donated, again through the foundation, to initiatives that benefit today's American visual artists. One of DC's most recognized team riders, skater Evan Smith, is the face of the campaign, which ironically showcases the arista's Fragile series against the backdrop of an activity as un-"fragile" as skateboarding.

The DC X ANDY WARHOL collection will be available online at the DC Shoes website and at select retailers worldwide beginning April 16.
