Dr. Martens has a new creative director Darren McKoy will be responsible for the brand's new collections

Dr. Martens, the British footwear brand that has made history in subcultures such as punk, ska, grunge, psychobilly, mod, gothic, emo, etc. has a new creative director: Darren McKoy. Affectionately known at Dr. Martens as DMac, he now serves as the brand's global creative director after being part of the design and product teams for over four years.

Darren, who has always been connected to Dr. Martens and thus from the moment he wore his first pair of shoes as a young schoolboy from which he has never parted, joined the brand in 2015 attracted by his passion for self-expression and sub-cultures. In his new role as Creative Director, he maintains a holistic approach that goes beyond just design and aesthetics, immersed in Dr. Martens' ever-evolving subcultural heritage. As a leader, Darren also emphasises the importance of teamwork, elevating the skills of those around him and always being guided by his own philosophy: "Create something good, generate emotion, respect the heritage of the brand".
