The Y/Project x Canada Goose capsule previewed at MODES Milano With an installation by the artist Sara Ravelli
Glenn Martens is the designer responsible for the extraordinary success that Y/Project has enjoyed in recent years. Thanks to his avant-garde aesthetic, his ability to dose versatility and asymmetries to create one-of-a-kind silhouettes, every Y/Project show has become one of the most exciting events of Paris Fashion Week. Just at the beginning of the year, in Paris, for the FW20 fashion show of the brand, the collaboration with Canada Goose, an iconic Canadian outerwear brand, had made its debut. The collection has already premiered at MODES Milano and will be celebrated with an installation by the artist Sara Ravelli who, for the occasion, told nss magazine about her project.
The collection, which consists of a total of five items, has its highlight in parkas, with their asymmetrical buttoning and their proportions unfailing artfully. But there is also no shortage of reversible wool sweaters and caps. What immediately comes to the fore is the way in which the rigorous technicality usually associated with Canada Goose remains respected despite the new construction of the garments that, to analyze the details, is very complex and studied – something that Glenn Martens has long accustomed his audience to.
