The unpredictable future of fashion - Digital Cover N.03 When did fashion stop imagining the future?

During this time the creative industry has changed radically. The rise of streetwear has reversed the hierarchies of large fashion houses, bringing new brands to the market and thinning the differences between genres. Aesthetic canons have changed as well as the definition of Luxury and accessibility to it. Gen Z's tastes and consumption have pushed brands to change the way they communicate and sell products, causing an entire industry to migrate from real to digital. Yet in the midst of these changes, the creative industry seems to have forgotten its essential task: to imagine the future. The creativity of the last ten years has been nourished by reworking and nostalgia. The ever-faster pace of trends and the resulting creative anxiety have focused the attention of the industry on the short term, fore fore foreaging the future. However, the Covid-19 pandemic and the worldwide lockdown have interrupted this rush for the first time. In the N03 digital cover, nss magazine explores the future of fashion through the vision of various digital artists with four insights on the impact of the pandemic both creatively and industrially. The first virtual room illustrated by Samy LaCrapule, Jordan Anderson investigates the future of Fashion Week in post-pandemic fashion, after the proclamations of brands and designers on an update of the formats between virtual alternatives and branding strategies. In room two, Cecilia Caruso asks the question about the trend that has dominated the last decade in the fashion industry: has streetwear died or has it been institutionalized? In the third room illustrated by Timo Helgert - aka @vacades - Filippo D'Asaro asked Luca Benini and Alessandro Poggi what brands will be in the next decade globally and how the meaning of luxury is changing. In the last room, with the artworks of Andrei Warren, Francesco Abazia wonders who are going to be the next creators, after in the last ten years the figure of the creator was first born and then radically changed, modifying the whole fashion world accordingly.
