Stone Island creates first ever jacket in thermosensitive leather Color change just came to leather
Constantly pushing the limits of possibility, Stone Island have since its inception been as much a clothing and fabric research brand as much as a design company, with a great many a firsts under their belt, the time has now come for yet another in the long line of Stone Island innovations. A few years ago they presented an Ice Jacket, which reacted thermically to its surroundings, and now they have pushed that technology to produce a new leather jacket that is able to incorporate that same technology.
The first ever jacket in thermosensitive leather, born from the collaboration of ECCO LEATHER® and The Dyneema® Project with Stone Island. Its outer face is coated with thermosensitive agents. Pigment molecules microencapsulated in resin change appearance and leather drastically changes color with the lowering of the temperature: from garnet to black, from beige to steel grey.
The Stone Island leather Ice Jacket is available for purchase on the Stone Island site now.
