Since day one Supreme has always been a step ahead of other skate brands.

Early days collaborations with graffiti legends such as Dondi White were just the beginning of that journey that led Supreme - among other things- to be a forefront in the empowerment of the liaison between art and streetwear. The brand was also always interested and supportive towards underground music, film-making and everything that could be labeled as counterculture. On the other side, Supreme never shut the door to mainstream culture and fashion influence. The founder, James Jebbia, is reportedly a huge Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld fan and he openly spoke several times about how much inspiration he actually takes from the Parisian brand. He once answered to a reporter, asking why he eventually did a Supreme fire extinguisher, by saying:

"Because Chanel can".

The perfect balance between underground and mainstream, fame and mystery, cult and pop is maybe one of Supreme's keys for success. Through its history Sup have made almost any kind of collaboration with brands of every sort: from cult high fashion brands like Undercover and COMME des GARÇONS, to renowned tech wear and sportswear brand like TNF and Stone Island or Nike, to iconic brands of any sort that goes from Vans to Timberland, from Playboy to Brooks Brothers, ending up the to most strange and unusual collaborations like the one with Braun Calculator or 360 Toy Group.

This huge constellation of co-branding is what turned Supreme into one the most relevant lifestyle phenomena of all times. They had the ability be elitist, yet to everywhere in every possible form.
