Jerry Lorenzo accused of ripping off Rick Owens What happened immediately after this first images of new Fear of God sneakers were released
Everything started when Jerry Lorenzo showed up at Vetements show rocking his brand new Fear of God sneakers. The new "Basketball sneakers" are a variation of his classic Military Sneakers design. The new model presents a white leather curved stripe on the side of the all black upper, white laces and rubber sole and a new padded tongue. When the designer posted one fit pic (shot by Bluemode) during the show and some close ups on the sneakers the shitsorm sterted. A lot of people started accusing Jerry Lorenzo for having ripped off the super-famous Geobasket sneakers by Rick Owens.
Many other mention that the first version of the Geobasket, the Rick Owens Dunk snekers, were a clear homage to the Nike AF1 and that was the reason why they had been retired after few season. That means Jerry intention was not to rip-off Rick Owens but to make his Basketball sneaker a tributo of one of the most famous Basket sneakers of all time. This is everything for now.
