The Fashion and Design Industries have been aggressively afflicted by the COVID-19 emergency. As a consumer, but also as a future insider of those systems, what will be the worst consequences of this crisis?

I feel like there is a pessimistic vibe in this question, and I don't want to be pessimistic. Of course, "before" will never be the same as "before"; considering all the hot topics on which I had the chance to focus during the lockdown, I opened my eyes: it would be stupid to hope for a comeback to the past. Of course fashion weeks, the work of models, advertising campaigns will see a radical change in their usage. But it is not good to stay focused on the pieces of a fashion system that has already passed. I think that it is much more interesting to focus on what will be the next approach that the fashion industry will adopt, what it will learn from these months' experience, and to think about how we can work to help this progress.

Your work is built on creativity. Where do you find your inspiration in this moment?

Some plants are born from the smallest seed, that rise up from the highest rock even if no one would bet on them. Still, those plants can grow even in the worst conditions. Creativity, for everybody who has this gift, is a spontaneous trait: by its own nature, you can't keep it on a cage and it tends to develop when it has the opportunity. Everything, even the most trivial that you can find on your apartment, can be an inspiration: you just need to let the seed grow.
