Sunday Escape - Casa de Aluminio A mix of stone, glass and metal for a modern, bright and minimal house
Do you like minimalism? The simple, clean lines?
Then you'll love the Casa de Aluminio by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos.
Always attentive to the dialogue with the context and at the harmonious insertion of architecture into the landscape, this group of creatives has designed a building, a mix of stone, glass, and metal located in the city of Madrid, Spain, surrounded by gardens with big trees. The upper floor is characterized by a large roof terrace, featured with glass balustrade that extends out towards the swimming pool and spans the entire width of the house. This, together with the use of aluminum as a coating of the outer surfaces, dematerializes the volume and blurs the contours of the structure, making it appear smaller than it actually is.
To achieve this, they tried to make it look like the upper level as the main and the lower floor, covered with a light stone as the surrounding paving, as an extension of the patio.
Casa de Aluminio won over you?
